Our Mission

SEEV exists to make news clearer, calmer, and more useful.

Each weekday, our editors summarize selected news stories using SEEV’s patent-pending, 25-point scholarly bias-screening system and proprietary, copyrighted summary format.

Our goal is to give you fast, clear, balanced, and verifiable information on the topics you choose—without ads, noise, spin, or triggering or graphic images.

Core Principles

  • Truth first. Our first duty is to the truth. We seek to provide accurate, balanced, and clearly presented information rooted in verifiable facts.
  • Independence. SEEV is free from political, corporate, and advertising influence. We do not sell, rent, or trade advertising space or user data, and we never accept payment or favors for coverage. SEEV is supported by—and accountable to—you, our community of readers.
  • Transparency. Every SEEV Summary links directly to its cited sources and identifies the potential biases filtered out through our process. Our full editorial policy and methodology are available for anyone to review, so you can see exactly how each SEEV Summary was prepared.
  • Integrity. Editors and contributors must disclose any personal, financial, or organizational conflicts of interest. Work is reassigned when such conflicts exist.
  • Accountability. We correct verified errors promptly, clearly, and transparently when identified.

SEEV’s editorial standards draw on the ethical frameworks of the Canadian Association of Journalists (CAJ) and the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ), adapted for SEEV’s modern, bias-filtering news format.

How SEEV Works

Each SEEV Summary is created with the assistance of AI tools and reviewed by trained human editors.

AI helps gather and organize articles each weekday from 50+ trusted and credible news sources that collectively cover Canada, the United States, and the rest of the world—from a variety of perspectives, including international, national, regional, and local viewpoints.

Our sources are drawn from outlets with diverse ownership and funding models (publicly funded, government-funded, nonprofit, and commercial) and that reflect both majority and minority perspectives to ensure balanced representation.

Currently, some of these sources include AP, BBC, CBC, Reuters, and The Guardian.

We re-evaluate our source list quarterly for accuracy, bias, clarity, credibility, reliability, and other key factors. We update and refine it as needed to ensure SEEV Summaries draw from the best available journalism—providing you with the highest-quality, most trustworthy, and least biased information possible at the time of publication.

Human editors then review, analyze, fact-check, verify, and finalize every summary using SEEV’s proprietary and patent-pending bias-screening rubric to ensure clarity, balance, accuracy, and usefulness to you.

All editorial judgments and publication decisions are made by human editors.

We disclose our use of AI openly because we believe transparency and human oversight are essential for trust in modern news.

We turn complexity into clarity—and show you how we got there.

What a SEEV Summary Is—and Isn’t

  • Written in SEEV’s own words as transformative reporting, commentary, and analysis, consistent with copyright, fair-use, and fair-dealing law.
  • Designed to help you save time, reduce stress, and make sense of complex issues—not to replace original journalism or act as legal, medical, financial, or professional advice. No one should rely solely on SEEV to act or omit to take any action, or make any decision.
  • You’re encouraged to consult the cited sources, do your own research and diligence, form your own opinions, and use SEEV as a tool for clarity and understanding, not persuasion.
